Having friends on tumblr is really great. I often refer to you guys in real life as “my friend from england/australia/california/new york” and it makes people think I’m very well traveled when really I’ve just spent a lot of time on the Internet.

Song: Neverland
Artist: Peter Pan and Wendy (1983)

Peter Pan was my favourite fairy tale since I was five. But neither Disney’s animated movie, nor the 2003 movie could charm me. Because right there, when I was five, I found my perfect version, my vinyls of the Soviet audio musical from 1983. The opening song still gives me goosebumps. I think it perfectly captured the melancholy of the book. That’s why I still love it so much.

Somewhere, among latitudes unknown,

There is an island of childhood, full of magic.

An island where dreams take flight,

An island you fly to.

The red sun burns in the sky,

The pirate ship is in full sail.

The Indians dance and the tide roars in,

Childhood, it’s so sad to part with you.

We grew up and we often feel unhappy,

We want to go back to the childhood.

We would go to the island but alas,

Grown-ups do not remember the way.

The pairing that nobody saw coming.

And everyone was rooting for.

" You can keep as quiet as you like, but one of these days somebody is going to find you."
Haruki Murakami (via killheji)

The screenwriter was asked to change the script after ratings dropped around EP 7 but he refused, then withdrew himself after EP 9. Apparently the series ending was the complete opposite of his original concept but I personally felt that the message was still effective.
